Antonia Burrell skincare was created with a problem-solving philosophy: to understand complex skin concerns in their full context and formulate with the intelligence to support more than one skin need and heritage, at a time.
Rooted in more than 35 years of advanced treatment-room expertise, clinical chemistry education and lived experience as a woman of colour treating a global cohort of skin tones and concerns, every formula begins with a deeper belief: skin should never be reduced to a label.
It should be understood through the biological intelligence of heritage - how it pigments, protects, reacts, repairs, ages and recovers all before it is treated.

Sensitive Skin Is a Signal, Not a Skin Type!
Sensitive skin should not be treated as a final label. It is often a signal and the deeper question is why the skin has become sensitised?
Is the barrier compromised? Has the skin been stripped, over-exfoliated, inflamed, stressed, or affected by climate, hormones, product history, pigmentation response or repeated irritation?
At Antonia Burrell, we look at skin behaviour, not so-called “skin type”. We consider skin heritage, why the skin is reacting, congested, dehydrated, pigmenting, dull or depleted and how each formula can support a more balanced, resilient and visibly healthier-looking skin.

Beyond “Combination Skin”
The term “combination skin” is often too generic and in many ways, outdated.
Most people naturally have an oilier T-zone. The forehead, nose and chin often behave differently from the cheeks because sebaceous activity, pore visibility and texture vary across the face as part of the skin’s biology.
An oilier T-zone is not enough to categorise skin as “combination”; it needs proper interpretation.
Is the skin balanced, or is it overproducing oil because it is dehydrated, stripped, congested, stressed, inflamed or reacting to the wrong products?
Most skin carries more than one behaviour at once: oily but dehydrated, congested but depleted, mature but breaking out, pigmented, dull or sensitised.
